Role Overview:
The Technical Writer will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including developers, business analysts, and subject matter experts, to document complex systems, workflows, and technology integrations. You will be responsible for creating clear, user-friendly documentation that captures the evolving business and technology landscape of the firm, with a particular focus on developing robust records of workflows, system diagrams, and business system development. This role is critical to ensuring clarity and alignment across teams, especially as we anticipate external influences impacting our organizational structure and technology.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation, including system workflows, process diagrams, architecture documents, and user manuals.

Work with internal teams to capture and document business requirements, system processes, and technical specifications.

Create and update visual diagrams and flowcharts to represent systems and processes clearly.

Document business system development processes, ensuring they align with evolving technology landscapes and regulatory standards in the financial industry.

Collaborate with technical teams to gather information about system functionality and ensure accurate documentation of new and modified features.

Standardize documentation practices across the organization to ensure consistency and clarity.

Review and refine existing documentation to improve usability and completeness.

Support compliance and audit efforts by ensuring thorough documentation of technology assets and infrastructure.

Prepare documentation to support integrations and potential future acquisitions or partnerships within the investment industry.
Qualifications:

Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Technical Writer, with a strong background in the financial services or investment industry.

Proven experience documenting business processes, system workflows, and technology systems in complex environments.

Familiarity with financial concepts, particularly related to credit practices, lending, or investment management.

Expertise in creating technical documentation that is accessible and understandable to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Proficiency in documentation tools such as Confluence, Visio, or similar diagramming software, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to quickly grasp complex concepts and translate them into clear, actionable documentation.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Experience with process mapping, systems analysis, and collaborating across cross-functional teams is highly desirable.
